A AIGAE GUIDE - Danilo holds a BSc (hons) Geological Sciences has trained at the MBARI Institute in the USA and has gained a PhD in Volcanologic Phenomena. He has collaborated for a number of years in research studies on volcanology conducted by the INGV and the University of Rome. Danilo has acquired a deep knowledge of the natural habitats of Etna, matured over decades of experience and has visited and observed and researched the behaviour of volcanoes in Iceland, Hawaii, the Canaries Islands and the USA. Danilo has carried out collaborative research in the Hawaii Island at the Volcanologic observatory on the Volcano Kilauea. In addition, Danilo is licensed to conduct Scuba-diving, and has practiced swimming, and skiing for the past 15 years.
Alessandro is a fully accredited AIGAE Guide and an Instructor of Nordic Walking & Mountain-biking. He has a profound knowledge of the Etnean landscape and has attended specialisation courses of Speleological Exploration in Volcanic Habitats. In addition, Alberto has acquired numerous accreditations in such fields as Mountainous Orienteering, Alpinism, Alpine Skiing and Canyoning. He has been involved to the explorations natural habitats for many years driven by a deep love of nature. His dynamic personality and is passion for sports have been a motivating force inducing him to the practice of several sportive activities such as free climbing, snow-boarding, mountain biking and horse-riding.
Born and bred in Sicily, Chiara is thoroughly passionate about Sicily its natural beauty and its remarkable cultural & historical milieu. She has studied International Relations and is endowed with a curious and enquiring mind that has driven her to travel extensively and to learn and appreciate the cultures, natural habitats and customs of other countries. Chiara is fluent in English, France and Spanish and has spent various years living abroad, especially in Spain and Mexico. She has been working as a guiding excursionist and harbours a sincere passion for natural habitats and speleological exploration.
Mariella is a certified instructor of Equitation Technique and has been involved in the art and practice of horsemanship for several years. A dynamic personality, a passion for outdoor sportive activities and a love of natural habitats have naturally drawn Mariella to the explorative excursions of mountainous environment as well as to the practice of Alpine skiing. Profoundly bound to her Sicilian heritage, Mariella has, over the years acquired a discreet understanding of the mythological and geological aspects of the Sicilian territory, and has continuously endeavoured to promote the outstanding natural beauty of Sicily. Her professional abilities and her loquacious and bubbly character make of Mariella a professional guide and truly a pleasurable company.
A certified Expert in Administration & Management of Hotel Activities, Marcello speaks German, French & English and teaches Touristic Disciplines at the Public Instruction Ministry. He is a Speleology researcher & a Catania Caves Group member qualified in Geology, Volcanology, Earth Morphology, Mineralogy, Petrology, Topography Cartography and Orienteering. A FISE member and a sport enthusiast Marcello practices Cross-Country Equitation, Canyoning & mountain-biking. In addition, Marcello is involved in explorative trekking of Geologically important areas to carry out Cave-Genesis Research. He participates to explorative expeditions at high altitude and, as an accredited guide, conducts guided excursions throughout the eastern Sicilian territory and its natural habitats.
Member of EtnaSicilyTouring since 2008 and deeply committed to support the EtnaSicilyTouring Project, Jenny is in charge of the booking and administrative departments. She is motivated to sustain the local cultural initiatives driven by her passion and love for Sicily its territory and its cultural heritage. Engaged in co-ordinating the continuous interactions between the tourist, and the expert personnel that at EtnaSicilyTouring make it possible to translate into practice the operations involved in the planning of the excursions, Jenny manages and co-ordinate with attention and professionalism the procedures necessary to guarantee the highest standards of services and the best possible customer care.Guiding excursionists are specialised guides that have acquired a distinct knowledge of the environmental characteristics of a territory, which would normally include knowledge of its geophysical features and indigenous flora and fauna, in addition to a comprehensive understanding of the anthropological aspects of its residing population.
