Tour Programme

• Pick-up from your holiday residence
• Visit to the Volcanologic Museum in Nicolosi where, with the aid of interactive media, you will have the chance of learning about the characteristics of the volcanic environment that you will be visiting soon afterwards.
• Trip to observe the past lava relics of a massive lava flows that, as a result of the 1991 – 1993 eruption, overflew the Calanna’ valley and threatened to destroy the civil dwellings of the town of Zafferana Etnea.
• Stimulating walk or Ciaspolata (snowshoeing), at about 2000 meters (± 6560 feet) of altitude above sea level to explore ancient and recently-formed craters and observe the whole Ionian coastline from above. (Trekking suitable for a wide range of fitness levels, even in the presence of snow, thanks to the snowshoes provided by us).
• Pleasurable interlude, at a family-run delicatessen and its annexed honey-extracting facility for a chance to sample a selection of wines, extra-virgin olive oils, honeys from wild-plants-derived pollen and many other typical Etnean products.
• Return and drop-off to your holiday residence.
