Tour Programme

• Pick up at your holiday residence
• Visit to a Volcanologic Museum in Nicolosi where, with the aid of some interactive media, you will have the chance of learning about the characteristics of the volcanic environment that you will encounter soon afterwards
• Beginning, of the bicycle ride which starts at an altitude of 1750 metres (± 5740 feet) above sea level, close to Mount Vetore
• The trail takes you to the Nuova Gussonea Botanical Garden, e from here you continue on a path that crosses a lava stratum created by a lava flow of the 2002 eruption
• Arrive at the Galvarina mountain hut, situated at 1870 metres of altitude (± 6140 feet) above sea level
• Pause for a re-invigorating, Spartan picnic with a packed lunch seasoned with the earthy fragrances of the surroundings
• Set out for Monte Spagnolo (literally, Spanish Mount) passing next to Grotta Nunziata (Cave Nunziata), an ample emptying lavic canal, deemed very important due to its dimensions.
• Abandon the Altamontana path engaging in trekking and proceeding through a lavic surface featuring the smoky hornitos formed during the 1981 eruption
• Arrival at the Saletti mountain hut, at an altitude of 1400 metres (± 4590 feet) above sea level, from which crossing over a lava stratum of the 1981, you the excursion at the Pirao mountain hut where EtnaSicilyTouring will have prepared a vehicle on stand-by to welcome you and take you back to your holiday residence.
