From Teatro Greco of Archimedes to the Sicilian Baroque style: Trip through the history of Sicily
Siracusa, interamente costruita sulla terra bianca, fu una delle antiche città greche più importanti del Mediterraneo.
Effettueremo una visita guidata dell’aerea archeologica con il suo imponente teatro greco, che durante il periodo primaverile ospita importantissime rappresentazione teatrali.
Visiterete l’anfiteatro romano e le "Latomie", tra cui la più interessante è la "Latomia del Paradiso", attraverso cui si giunge alla più famosa delle grotte di questo parco: quella detta "Orecchio di Dionigi", che costituisce la maggiore attrazione, assieme al teatro greco, per i turisti che visitano Siracusa.
L’isola di Ortigia, un’isola nell’isola
Scoprirete la cattedrale Edificata nella parte più alta di Ortigia, il Duomo di Siracusa sorge sui resti dell'antico tempio dorico dedicato ad Athena, fatto costruire nel V° secolo a.c. dal tiranno Gelone, ed ancora la mitologica Fonte Aretusa decantata da molti poeti, affascinati dalla leggenda di Aretusa e dal luogo incantevole: Virgilio, Pindaro, Ovidio, Silio Italico, Milton, André Gide, Gabriele D'Annunzio, solo per citarne alcuni.
Escursione sul fiume Ciane
Il Fiume Ciane è un piccolo, ma importante corso d'acqua su cui aleggiano varie leggende come quella della Ninfa Ciane, che per il dolore arrecato dal rapimento dell'amica Persefone (figlia della Dea Cerere) da parte del Dio Plutone (sovrano del regno dei morti), morì e venne trasformata in fonte dalla compassione degli Dei. Così secondo i greci nacque il Fiume Ciane.
L'intero letto del Fiume Ciane è circondato da una lussureggiante flora mediterranea comprendente alberi e arbusti. Le specie erbacee sono tante e sono perlopiù acquatiche; Qui le piante di Papiro crescono tanto da formare veri e propri cespugli piuttosto folti e va detto anche che il cosiddetto "Papiro del Ciane" è divenuto una specie protetta a tutti gli effetti.

- Pick-up and drop-off at your accommodation.
- Get to Syracuse and, after parking the car on the beautiful waterfront, the scene of countless naval battle between the Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans, you will walk up to the legendary Fountain of Arethusa in the island of Ortigia.
- Through the alleys of Old Town we’ll reach the magnificent Piazza del Duomo, which still shows its ancient and noble elegance of its white buildings.
- We enter the Cathedral, an admirable example of overlap of styles and eras. In a church you marvel at an old painting by Caravaggio and the old wooden cross of the Christian era.
- When our eyes are satiated with this beauty we stop in a small bar and we will have a brunch with pizza, drinks, coffee and sweets.
- Finally, we can choose or we will go to the archaeological park in Syracuse (TICKET NOT INCLUDED IN THE COST), or we will go to the Natural Reserve of the River Ciane, where we will have a pleasant and relaxing walk among the papirus, in ash and vegetation typical of these untouched places.
